Frequently Asked Questions

In addition to investing in you, we are investing in the team that you have built. We want to maintain the quality of care and patient experience that your patients are accustomed to receiving. As part of Upperline, the staff can participate in the Upperline benefits program, which includes healthcare and 401(k) matching. And, they will get a meaningful pay increase via the Upperline Plus enrollment bonuses.

Employed doctors will also join Upperline as W-2 employees. Their compensation package will be economically consistent with their current compensation amount, though it will ultimately be paid via a RVU structure. And, they will get a meaningful pay increase via the Upperline Plus bonuses.

The wRVU compensation model is a productivity-based compensation model, much like a percentage of collections compensation model. The key difference is that our doctors are paid when the claim is billed, meaning that they are no longer waiting for the claim to be paid and they receive the same pay every time they perform a service, regardless of what the reimbursement ends up being. Doctors receive a fixed dollar amount for each wRVU they bill out, which determines their bi-weekly paycheck.

Upperline will become your tenant and will sign an initial three (3) year lease term at the same rate the practice is currently paying your landlord entity so long as that amount is determined to be at a “fair market value” rate for other similar locations in your area.

Yes. The non-compete covers a 20-mile radius from your practice location, lasting five years from the acquisition date and for two years after the owner is no longer employed by Upperline.

When you decide to retire, we ask that you provide as much notice as possible so that we have time to recruit a new clinician for your practice. Our interests are aligned here in that we want the best continuity of care possible for patients and we want the legacy you built to continue.

Your schedule stays exactly as it is today. You continue practicing the way you always have.
